SPRING

During the spring, especially in March, there are a lot of festivals in Austin (Notably South by SouthWest) were thousands of people come into the city. It's not uncommon for people to rent out there homes during these busy festivals. Uber drivers are also in high demand during this time. There are also many opportunities for volunteer or short term promotional positions.

SUMMER

Pedi cab driver in downtown, lifeguard in local public pools, musician, food truck, farmers market, waiter, bartender, etc. So many cool summer jobs to choose from.

AUTUMN

Autumn in Austin is incredible. There are many events such as the Austin City Limits Festival (ACL), and odd-jobs to be picked up. Also, there are a lot of football games during the weekend, therefore workers may be needed to help businesses/hotels handle the influx of people.

WINTER

Skiing in Travis - does it exist? Is there plenty of opportunities for people to get work in Travis in the winter? What kind of skills are needed at this time of year? ATTITUDE TO FOREIGNERS WORKING IN TRAVIS

The Austin area is very liberal and open-minded. It is not uncommon to meet foreigners working here, I believe the general attitude is neither negative nor excessively positive. It is just a normal aspect of the diversity here in Austin.
