Work and Travel in San Diego
WORK IN SAN DIEGO ALL YEAR ROUND
San Diego is a growing urban metropolis with suburban draws as well, hence the rapid growth of the city. Most San Diegans are well off (to say the least) as the average cost of living is 25% higher than average in the United States. With this extra income comes the advantage of leisure, which most San Diegans try and enjoy as much as possible. The craft beer scene is one of the biggest in the US, which will provide jobs year-round for people looking for work. The restaurant industry is always looking for more bussers and hosts (to serve you will DEFINITELY need at least a year experience, most restaurants require 2-3), as well as dishwashers and line cooks. There is an impressive variety of restaurants in San Diego that welcome most employees (even with visible tattoos/differences in hair color/ethnicity/style, etc.) There are a lot of hotels needing overnight reception and cleaning crews, and other odd jobs such as club security, etc. that are always available in San Diego.
