Work and Travel in Essex
WORK IN ESSEX ALL YEAR ROUND
Please edit this section to tell travellers what kinds of short term work is available in Essex all year round. Mention skills that are in demand here more than other places. If you can get some work as a translator in Essex but it is as hard as anywhere else, please don't list it. If it is a region in China that cannot get enough English translators.... I think you get the idea.
SEASONAL WORK IN ESSEX
SPRING
What kinds of work are available in the spring time in Essex. Remember to keep work that is all year round in the section above and not mention it again here.
SUMMER
The work that is needed by hosts in the summer in Essex
AUTUMN
What kinds of work are there in Essex in autumn? Maybe it's harvest time, but do people need the help of foreigners for either cheap labour or expertise? This is the kind of thing we need to know here.
WINTER
Your best bet at finding fun, festive employment in Essex at this time of year would be heading on over to Marsh Farm Animal Adventure Park. They hire plenty of new seasonal workers to become 'elves' for their winter Santa-land experience. It's a thrilling event which would see you dressed up in elf-attire, helping bring the festive magic to the thousands that attend over the season. You'll be charged with several duties, depending on your situated station. This could be helping stuff and dress bears in the 'Make-a-bear" section, assisting Santa in the Santa's grotto corridor, running the gift shop floor, managing the tour groups on arrival or helping the crafts section. All those who have experienced this role have come out the other side with only positive and enthused comments!
ATTITUDE TO FOREIGNERS WORKING IN ESSEX
Essex is a relatively diverse place, although many who live there would refer to the region as 'sheltered'. The sub-urban neighbor of London, the nation's vibrant capital, features a combination of oldy-worldy traditionalism and new-age WAG lifestyles. Let's just say, the program me 'The Only Way is Essex' doesn't apply to anywhere, except for the secondary school societies of the more populated towns.
The attitude towards travelers is welcoming, if you're even noticed at all. Not many blink an eye at the fact you're a fleeter, not out of rudeness, but because it's simply not seen as something to define your opinions of someone. If anything, people would just want to hear any cool, enthralling stories and envy you from the distance of their secure, sheltered semi-detacheds.
