SEASONAL WORK IN HOWELL
SPRING
Spring is planting time, and people often need help getting their gardens and/or crops in before the weather gets too warm.
SUMMER
The vineyards here are often looking for help picking grapes in the summer.
AUTUMN
Farmers and ranchers are generally getting in their last cutting of hay and need help loading and hauling it to their barns, or buyers need someone to transport it.
WINTER
In the winter, it depends on the weather. Some years, we need as many hands as possible to clear thick ice and snow, while others there is little more to do than twiddle thumbs.
ATTITUDE TO FOREIGNERS WORKING IN HOWELL
The community here is very small and tight-knit so they are not always welcoming to outsiders. However, there is a lot of respect available for anyone willing to work hard who gets here at the right moment.
