Story County is located in the U.S. state of Iowa. It is a mix of farmland and urban setting, with a population of 90,000 (2010). It contains the city of Ames and is home to Iowa State University. With the large population of college students filling most temporary work, there is little openings during the school year.

There is above average acceptance of travelers throughout the state. A lot of locals have little travel experience, but are friendly and welcoming towards new people.
