Work and Travel in Oost-Vlaanderen
WORK IN OOST-VLAANDEREN ALL YEAR ROUND
In East Flanders there are plenty of volunteering opportunities. Most of those are social volunteering activities, like being a buddy for elderly/disabled people, or mentors for refugees. Since the weather is so variable all year round most activities aren't really season-dependent. Aside from that Belgium has a LARGE catering/hospitality sector and they're always looking for people. The greatest time of year to be in East-Flanders is definitely during the last two weeks of July since there's a big 'folk feast' in the capital city of East Flanders; Ghent. Ghent Fest is a 10 day festival and there's no way not to fall in love with the authentic athmosphere. There are cultural activities during the day and plenty of parties during the night. By the way, there's a world music stage at the festival and they're always looking for security and bartending volunteers.
