Workers Wanted for Hostel in Rio, Brazil
Your work would involve working reception where you would take bookings, field phone enquiries, check-in and check-out, organising what rooms and beds the cleaners need to attend to, sell tours and answer any questions asked by guests. There would also be a couple of shifts in the bar which is only open 6:00pm-10:00pm, and is not open on Mondays. As the hostel can only sleep a maximum of 45 people it is not terribly demanding, and the busiest shift is always the morning check-out period. You have to be a friendly, sociable person who gets along easily with people. We are not nearly as formal as a hotel reception here, so you need to be comfortable passing on your knowledge to those who are new in town. This is why the position is suited to long term travellers, people who have travelled extensively, or have lived in several countries. You would not have to work every day, but some days would be only 5 hours and some 10 hours. You would definitely get at least one day off, or more if
any time
