Workers Required for Organic Homestay in South Africa.

Garden work includes: Making compost piles, cutting grass (summer), collecting manure, fire breaks (winter), weeding, seed collecting, planting seedlings, hole digging for trees and maintenance of trees, planting edibles and pioneer plants, repairing fences, cutting and chopping firewood, harvesting crops, bagging, sorting & transplanting in the nursery. Non-gardening work: making breads, preserves, chutneys, etc. Marketing, fundraising, administrative work and website updating are also needed. We make yurts to there may be some yurt construction opportunity. Food Volunteers provide their own meals although lunch or dinner can be bought or traded at R20/1 hour labour/meal. Meal preparation is a shared activity. We will make a roster where you can sign up for meals and preparation.
