Volunteers Wanted for Waste Management Project in Northern India

We offer interesting volunteering opportunities for travelers where you are free to commit as much or as little as you want. Listed below are different ways that people can come and volunteer with us: • Clean Up Activities: Give something back to nature, by joining us on our weekly clean up hikes to Triund, Bhagsu Waterfall,Dharamkot and Jim Corbett National Park. • Join us for our Children’s Day: Kids from different backgrounds & age come together for our monthly Children' Day where they enjoy making creative things from waste, play environmental games and go back home learning something new. We plan this on the last Sunday of every month. You can get in touch with us a few days back and help us prepare for the activity or simply show up at the venue and enjoy some time with kids. Even if you don’t speak English or Hindi, you can help by taking pictures, preparing food for the kids etc. • Own Clean Up: If you have only a couple of hours or don’t enjoy hikiMore...ng so much, but can’t resist picking up garbage; simply drop in at our office. You can borrow some bags and gloves and clean on your own! • Casual Office work: We always need hands for organization or preparation of school days, movie nights, art works etc. Get in touch with us and we can let you know what activities are we organizing next and may be you can help. • Art Projects: Walls Murals are a beautiful way of reaching out to people and get them thinking. If you have artistic skills or enjoy painting, we can possibly create a project for you. There are numerous walls that we have painted around town and would love to paint the entire town green! • Fundraising Fund raising events and movie nights are fun ways to raise some funds and show case our work. If you would enjoy organizing events and want to support our project, please get in touch. We also provide long term opportunities to our volunteers as well. Dharamsala Accommodation: You are more than welcome to stay at the Waste Warriors house located in a forest area 5 minutes from the main Bhagsu square. The accommodation is subject to availability with communal areas such as kitchen and bathroom being shared with other volunteers. Being a small NGO, we really can't afford to provide free accommodation to our volunteers. Accommodation can be provided starting from Rs. 100 a night. This helps cover our rent cost. Hide
