Volunteers Required for Permacultue Farm

Our Mission - to make a positive contribution to the local community through social and environmental projects in the village of Nong Weang and surrounding area. We provide an opportunity to integrate in local Thai culture, Thai language, Thai foods and acquire skills and new friends. We offer organic /permaculture education and a place to stay in return for 4-5 hours a day help around the farm and the community. The return is the opportunity to integrate into Thai culture and ecology, whilst having the opportunity to give something back to the community and children...the next generation. See Video at http://livetheflipside.wordpress.com/2011/02/21/farm-work-and-teaching-in-nong-weang-thailand/ Description: Aiding farms/farmers with organic permaculture farming and/or teaching in local school. If we are very busy some rooms maybe shared with one other same sex volunteer. You will be living in a rural village on a working farm with a Thai family. We focus on “safety first” on all projects and in our accommodation. (WWOOFers stay free). For "Permaculture education and training" you will receive three meals a day plus accommodations and do and learn permaculture work projects at a nominal fee of $50 per week to cover the time is takes to train you in .... holistic and bio-diverse organic farming in harmony with nature. It is "low-intervention", "ecological" and "sustainable". In its purest beginning form, it is a ‘do-nothing’ way of farming, where nature does most everything, and little needs to be done by the farmer.... This is achieved with tree crops, healthy locally grown farm produce, fruits, vegetables, eggs, that become fabulous Thai dishes in front of you. Some of you learning Thai dishes and cooking will be expected to participate in the preparation, serving and or cleaning up of each meal. (Special diets – some can be accommodated but please let us know early in the interviewing process as rural Thailand does not offer highly specialized dietary foods.) Hide
