My name is Linzhao ,a college student who always like enjoying his summer and winter holiday time on farm ,this farm which belongs to our big family and mainly runs by my uncle ,it's located in mianyang city,sichuan province,China .we raise pigs and some fish and plant grapes ,while which are not the only things we do,we also do a lot of work on restoring the local ecological environment,because we beleive that humanity and nature to be in harmony is the key to realize the sustainable development of both agriculture and the humanity society . During summer holiday and winter holiday of each year volunteers from different countries to experience farm life or rural chinese life and see the Chinese society from different perspective compared with big cities like Beijing and Shanghai.Some of them come to learn and practice their chinese language. My family try our best to push the farm forward to be a place where people from cities can get close to nature and realise how important to hMore...ave a good relationship with nature.A window through which people from other countries could see the chinese society and experience chinese culture and chinese life.A place where people from different parts of the world could get together to share their nice ideas and cultural exchanging , to practice chinese for those who study chinese . In order to do so,we arrange some suitable farm work for the volunteers to do and we also arrange activities ,like sports ,topic movie sharing ,visit local places and organizations like government and middle shcools or high shcools,and even do some investigations such as to investigate how local environment department deal with trash which the volunteers collect and sort on the farm ect , through which we think the volunteers could know more about what have happened about today's chinese society and know its culture better. For the volunteers we host ,we do not think the relationship between them and my family are employment and just farmwork offering and accommadation reture, we'd prefer to consider volunteers be a part of my family that we work and live together on the farm, so we hope volunteers can feel free to choose and let me know what they expect to learn and experience during their stay on the farm ,for me and my family we will try our best to help volunteers gain what they expect to learn through the work and activities (mentioned above)we arrange for volunteers. Details: (A)Volunteers have meals with my family and needn't do it themselves, of course if you would like to learn some chinese cooking skills ,you will be welcome,my mum is a good family cook. We have Wifi , Fax,scanner and printer on the farm and volunteers can use them for free. We arrange and organize some small trips around the place for volunteers . The chinese volunteers and me will be very pleased to be your chinese tutors. In short, just have a feeling of your own home here that's what we expect. (B)WORK, you can choose to try any kind of the work on the farm,just feel free to let me know that . For the work hours,that depend on weather,for rainy day,we may have indoor activities and have rest, other time may heve around 6~8h work, but the average hours is around 4h per day,coz we will spend some days for trips. Vounleers can also choose anyday off if you have some other plans like tickets and visa arrage or your own trips ect. (C)ACTIVITIES, include afterwork activities and topic activities, after work ,we usually do some sports like swimming ,tennis,basketball match,football match ,table tennis, camping, boating ,bike ect. Language learning corner. Books and movies sharing.day experience sharing .cooking skills show.ect Topic activities, some visitings on local government, local environment department,schools, villages and villagers. and may even do some investigations about trash problem and other local environment problems. These activities aim at helping volunteers can get a better view of today's chinses society ,especially rural place. Feel free to let me know and choose what you want to join or not,or you have some other good ideas also feel free to share. (D)TIME ,we usually suggest a volunteer stay on the farm no less than 2 weeks,because we do not think the farm is just simply a tourism spot or hostel for a traveler's short stay .Instead ,no less than 2 weeks' time is possible for the volunteers who want to know different aspects of the farm and local society and local's life at a relative deep level.
