Was waiting for me at the bus. Very welcomed. Working hours were slightly longer than agreed, but the skills I was working on were exactly as I wanted. Accommadation was fantastic.. exact,y as described.

I stayed in Breb for a month and it was a wonderful experience. The work is very fair 5 hours a day, five days a week. I did many things but my primary job was fruit picking. Besides that, I painted pipes, minor construction work, cleared out an old house and cleaned. I learned new skills and was giving a chance to do many things that I never have done. You are fed three good meals a day and endless tea and are only expected to work those five hours. No more. Breb is very remote but very beautiful. The Spivak is very comfortable and has all that you need including internet. I spent many of nights drinking beer and enjoying chats with interesting people. Duncan and Penny are very clear of what the work is and helpful. I would recommend this volunteer job to anyone.

I was working with Duncan 3 weeks. It was wonderful time for me. We were working 5 hours in day and were have enough time for walking and relax. We were living like big volunteer's famili. When I arriwed I had big problem with English but each person try to help me. Now my level a little better then before. And of cose I never forget beautiful Romanian landskapes. I have too mutch sketches from Breb. Duncan's willage hotel is very autentic. I was happy to leave a mark there. Thank you Duncan and his wife Penny for good time and experience!

I spent around two weeks working at the Village Hotel. The work was varied, and the hours were fair and regular. My tasks comprised finishing and painting a stone barbecue/outdoor fireplace, and sanding and varnishing kitchen fittings. I worked from 8am til 1pm, Monday to Friday, with the rest of the time free. The accommodation was comfortable, and I had my own room. The food available was good and plentiful, and included lots of local produce. I also had access to a washing machine and wifi. The landscape around is extremely picturesque and is great to explore during time off.

The House of Spivak
- A traditional Maramures wooden house that has been converted in 2013 for Working Travellers and the local staff that live here.
- Three dorms with four beds in each. Three meals a day, heating, showers and of course good wifi - up to 280 mbs if your or laptop is new enough 🙂 🙂
