About Me
I am a very relaxed character and easy to get along with. My job for the last years required me to be able to get along successfully with all different personality types who were all pushed out of their comfort zones by taking part on the projects we ran, so I was also able to make people feel comfortable and at ease in challenging environments. There was not a lot of free time in my last job, so now I am enjoying more time to read (any book will do! I have a Kindle but I LOVE to hold books and will never be as happy with an electronic version!) and practise dance. I danced a lot when I was younger at quite a competitive level but now just do it mostly by myself for personal expression and joy.
My work on Borneo was focused on conservation outcomes, and this was very challenging and to be honest, pretty depressing. It is hard to see that conservation is having any real impact on the wider world in present times, and though I am pleased to have volunteered in this area for so many years, it was definiy time for me to move on and change my focus. I am now interested in trying to experience more of life, and find more things that I enjoy and can find happiness in. To this end I have just bought a campervan and will be starting an extended journey next year with my partner to see more of the world.
