Front of House Manager – On The Rocks Restaurant, Torquay, 05/15 – Present
My responsibilities included monthly wages, weekly rotas, all issues involving human resources and hiring, training and development of front of house staff. As well as the day to day running of the restaurant including ordering, stocktake, booking system management and daily/weekly cleaning.
Duty Manager – Le Bistrot Pierre, Torquay, 08/14 – 12/14
Receiving constant managerial training I developed leadership skills and team responsibility through organising staff, team briefs and ensuring smooth running of the restaurant. Financial management responsibilities of the company s and processing daily and weekly financial takings in Excel spreadsheets.
Volunteering
I have extensive volunteer experience which has provided opportunities to develop skills outside of my formal education. I have volunteered with Youth in Action on overseas and UK based projects coordinating environmental workshops. I volunteered with World Challenge travelling to Madagascar helping promote tourism in rural areas. I volunteered as a geography ambassador with the Royal Geographical Society presenting to young adults encouraging them to become more involved in geography. I volunteered with my university’s marketing department presenting and discussing university life and studying abroad. Volunteering I have developed qualities such as speaking to a group, organisation and planning. All these experiences and qualities I can apply to this role.
Travelling
Passion for people and cultures is what has driven me to travel independently and as part of a team on multiple trips since I was 16. The countries I have visited are Australia, Thailand, New Zealand, Fiji, France, Italy, Austria, Armenia, Madagascar and Bali. I am able to deal with challenging situations and multiple tasks that have made me mature, self-reliant and culturally aware.
About Me
I am an independent, hard-working individual. I like to socialise with my friends and family, go to the gym and take classes and study online courses. Taking a career break to try and gain experience in tour guide/activity leading.
