Host overview

We are a family pursuing a self-sustaining life. We grow heirloom seed and veggies as income. We are building a steel-framed straw bale house/barn/studio/workshop but in the meantime we are camping.

    How we work

    At present, we are all camping. There is a timber cabin for volunteers with a queen bed and linen. We have a hot shower and bucket system toilets.
    We provide 3 basic meals- fresh food, mostly vegetarian with eggs from our hens and occasional meat bought/traded in.
    Tasks are varied and interesting and weather dependent. We live very seasonally.
    We collect volunteers from the closest town- Gansbaai where a tour bus drops/collects to Cape Town.
