Volunteering as a Check-in and Chat Volunteer I support by providing calls to people who may be at risk of loneliness, those who are isolated, or those who need help being signposted to someone else. Calling it helps to provide more companionship, support, and information as well as a listening ear.

Starting as a temporary sale assistant for the summer holidays, and became a permanent member at Clarks as a trained fitted after the summer holidays of 2019. The job let me complete a variety of tasks which included measuring children’s feet, fitting new shoes to the correct sizes, and organizing the shop floor. All tasks needed me to communicate effectively with all the customers of all ages as well as my colleagues. Furthermore, the job needed me to have effective time management, approachability, good customer service skills and the ability to work in a high demand environment.

Working as Patient Pathway Co-Ordinator in multiple sections of the hospital I was tasked with supporting the Service Support Manager, patients, and medical staff with delivering high-quality patient-focused services. The post demanded effective communication and organisational skills, good customer service skills, and the ability to work in a busy environment with challenging deadlines. Throughout this role, I remained organised, motivated, and proactive to ensure the job was completed to the best of my ability throughout.
