My skills

I am an enthusiastic, determined and personable 18 year old currently on my gap year between my A-level and university studies, with a vast range of experiences to draw upon. At school I worked hard to achieve 11 A*s at GCSE and 4 A*s at A-level, and would look to bring this same hard work and commitment to working for you. Whilst at school I also enjoyed participating in sports teams, such as rugby and football at 1st team level, where teamwork and banter were essential. I completed the Devizes to Westminster 125 mile kayak race in my first year of A-levels, and this is the sporting achievement of which I am most proud, utilising my resilience, teamwork and determination.

Previous work experiences have mostly been in the financial sector as I look to build a career in Investment Banking, with a particular focus on Mergers & Acquisitions advisory. For example, I have taken part in insight programmes at Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse and Nomura, being fast-tracked for a Spring internship at Nomura based on my feedback that cited my outstanding ability to work as part of a team. Voluntary work in the past has included working at Oxfam Bookshop, and I am also going to Kenya in October to work as a teacher in a school there.

About Me

Having attended boarding school, I have enjoyed living with a wide range of personalities from a young age, through thick and thin, the highs and the lows. The social aspect is what I particularly enjoyed; sharing stories, experiences, ideas and jokes whether it was over dinner, waiting for lessons or just sat in each other's rooms. I believe it also developed my ability to be warm, friendly and get on with people regardless of circumstances.

In my free time I like to keep fit, mostly through running and going to the gym, and am planning on training towards a marathon having completed a half marathon last year. I have a passion for non-fiction books, particularly if they are related to personal development and self-discovery - for example I am reading The Road to Character by David Brookes - a fantastic book that highlights our need to develop "eulogy values" above "CV values." In terms of music, I listen to a wide range; from the modern classical work of Ludovico Einaudi, to pop, house and electro music.
