About Me
I’m a 35-year-old German, but I’ve lived in Canada since I was a young child, mostly in rural Nova Scotia, and then I moved to Toronto in 1999 for university and it stuck – I now work in film production, and I have a vintage business on the side.
I am a city girl, but long before, I grew up in the country, and I find myself really craving a connection to the land and growing things, which is lacking in my life now. I am passionate about food and environmental issues, and want to gain the skills to be self-sufficient. I am not afraid of hard work or of getting dirty, and am looking forward to learning and contributing all I can.
I’m taking a year to immerse myself with locals to really get to understand Scotland, which has enchanted my heart. Perhaps eventually I’ll work in film production for a bit, but for now, I want to reconnect with my spirit and get my hands dirty in a garden or feeding livestock. I want to learn about how other people live and work and to contribute to a community.
I speak English, German, and French. I love animals, children, books, music, films, photography, exploring the outdoors, and above all I am eager to help and to have a bit of cultural exchange. I believe in integrity and honesty. I am a curious and open person with a quirky sense of humour.
