My skills

Member of the Russian Art Association
Since 1985 free-lance artist

I am 59 year old free-lance artist. My career as an artist started in early 80s, but my passion for art is dated back to my school years. After completing degree in biology at Perm State University I worked as a microbiologist, then as a teacher, hydraulic engineer, fireman, seller… all these jobs were giving me enough money for living and enough free time to further develop myself as an artist. But at one point I realized that I could not anymore resist the undercurrents of my soul. I left the job, completed evening art school for adults and went to the free art voyage. And I never regretted this decision…

About Me

Art is my passion and if I spend a day without drawing - I feel like there is no air to breath, no energy and no inspiration, so my work is my mode of existence.

With years city landscapes and plein-air projects, which were the main theme of my artworks have given way to a more philosophical projects with a complex composite foundation, made in the studio. Knowledge of the plein-air was a great help in drawing from memory and from the secondary sources - photographs, prints, images of ancient artefacts, etc.

Since then I have completed great of projects and I was lucky to show some of them to the public including:

Tale of a Town - which is a collection of city landscapes of every city I have traveled to. Project was launched and exhibited in Moscow and then in Perm, Russia (link to the related newspaper article )

Fortune Boards - project inspired by and dedicated to Vladimir Vysotsky songs, art and life. Project was launched and exhibited in Moscow, Russia, Museum of Vladimir Vysotsky () and later in Art Residence in Donetsk, Ukraine ()

Flying in Dreams and Reality - philosophical rethinking of different art directions and masterpieces of famous artists. Project was launched in Sumy, Ukraine, City State Gallery with extensive master class program (links to the related articles and interview:

As for the techniques, I work not only on canvas, but use absoluy different materials from wood and glass to wall and wrapping paper. I also do mural works. I haven't done any official projects on this as yet, just few art projects in Moscow region and in small art residence in Donetsk where I was involved in set up of public art studio (link to the fly through of the studio in Donetsk - ).

History, city landscapes and architecture are the areas which I have been always interested in and always use these themes in my artworks. In my studio I have a great collection of books dedicated to the art, history and travel and every day I spend few hours going through some of them. This is how I travel the world … I’ve learned a lot about different countries, cities, cultures, art history and traditions of so many amazing places and now when I have an opportunity to travel I know exactly what I want to see, to get a “real” impression and transfer it into my artworks.

And now I am looking for new projects and opportunities which I hope to find through the working traveller network.
