EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
5th October – 29th Nov Restaurant manager Ed’s Easy Dinner
This was an exciting experience, be part of an opening was challenging from day one and beneficial on a personal experience level. Unfortunay misjudged the gap between personal and company identity/character.
Nov 2011 – June 2015 Student/Volunteer CICD England
This was a period that allowed me to follow a long lasting dream of knowing different cultures and put in practice my most altruistic side. I travelled to India and volunteered in an “Ashram” (houses /schools for spiritual development) where I took my yoga TTC (teachers training course). After my time in India, where the benefits of being a volunteer were more at a personal level, I decided to Volunteer for the benefit of others and join CICD (College for International Co-operation and Development), located in Hull, North of England, where I was prepared as DI (Development Instructor) and was then allocated in one of the projects in Africa, a college in Guinea Bissau.
Nov 2001 – August2011 Restaurantmanager Nando’s Chickenland
I Joined Nando’s over a decade ago and made my way up to “Patrao” (General Manager). Within that role, I had the opportunity of working in a few restaurants with different backgrounds and weekly turnovers (with teams of 15 to 40 staff/colleagues, and turnovers raging from £ to £), which made it more challenging and enriching. As a result of my work (measurable/KPIs), I was made a partner in 2009. The 10 years dedicated to a company that I have seen grown from 18 to 250 restaurants (by the time I left), as well as the know-how acquired, has implications that far exceeds any experience above mentioned as manager of a sole restaurant, and “people wise” it had such an impact that imprinted my managerial style and personality.
Provide an exceptional experience to customers
Responsible for an exceptional work environment and a great team spirit
Recruit, train and develop people to always become and deliver the best
Financially control the overall performance of the business, trying to meet, preferably exceeding all targets (sales, profits, and margins)
Ensure success by encouraging, motivating, recognising and most importantly lead by example
Ensure implementation of all company policies and standards (Marketing, Operational and Financial)
March 2001 – October 2001 Waiter “Le Siam Garden”, Port Grimaud, France
This was a small “family run” Thai restaurant, in a tourist area that was not open all year round.
I had the responsibility of taking orders and deliver a high standard customer service to all English speaking tourists
As the owner/manager could not speak English, I had to be articulate enough and find ways to communicate
Support of all food and drinks orders and care of the overall cleaning and maintenance
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
2012 Yoga TTC (teachers training course)
2002 Introductory/beginners course (6 months part-time), on music production and technology (Cubase)
Introductory/beginners course (6 months part-time), on metal sculpture
2000 Black and White photography beginners course
1998 ESOL English Intermediate
1996 ‘A’ Levels and ‘O’ Levels (Escola Secundaria Anadia – Portugal)
INTERESTS
I enjoy arts in general, music and film being the most powerful and pleasant to myself. In addition, I enjoy travelling with a good book as a companion. I try to keep fit and active.

About Me
I love traveling and satiate my thirst when in with different cultures. Although I do not have any art degree, I'm passionate about a wide range of them, and almost consider myself an amateur critic. I have an engineering mind who likes to solve problems in various areas, as well as a political mind that believes it can solve the world's problems.
I love reading, whether political, romance, poetry or psychology. Without a specific music genre, the music it's permanent and necessary in my life.
