I am a motivated, friendly and enthusiastic person. My experiences of working and travelling in various countries in Europe, South America and Asia have required me to be flexible and diplomatic with unfamiliar customs and working environments. Researcher, MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit, Bristol September 2014-ongoing
I have carried out three distinct research projects as a PhD researcher in Bristol University. I taught on a 7-day course on Genetic Epidemiology in Pelotas, Brazil, and presented my research in Bristol.
Research Consultancy, LSHTM January 2014-ongoing
Currently working on a consultancy basis with LSHTM and WHO researchers on a set of systematic reviews relating to the effects of community participation in reducing maternal and neonatal mortality. Gained experience of Eppi-Reviewer programme. Involved in screening, data extraction and write-up.
Travel and work, South America March-August 2014
I took this chance to travel and work in a of South American countries. This included assisting medical students in health clinics in under-served rural communities in Iquitos, Peru, and shadowing local researchers who were recruiting for a birth cohort in the same location. I also worked and lived with a family in Tena, Ecuador.

Worked in an environmental education centre in Sevilla, Spain. I was involved in planning and implementing environment-related projects with school groups. Worked in Spanish and took private classes to improve my language skills while there.

Worked in Cross River State, Nigeria, on various community development projects as part of a group of UK and Nigerian volunteers. Worked with community members to organise a hugely successful International Women’s Day event. Helped to re-establish a local NGO and women’s group, both of which committed to giving local women training opportunities. Lobbied the local government for funding and support for various projects. Developed my project management and leadership skills.

Secured over £15,000 worth of donations for auction and raffle prizes, contributing the majority of prizes to an auction making over £22,000. Created promotional materials for fundraising events and updated the site.
