Site Manager with Empire Roofing

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

• Managing roofing on various sites (primarily new schools) in the Leinster area working with BAM Contractors (Dundalk), Sammons (Portlaoise), Ganson (Longwood) Glasgiven (Dundalk), ABM (Athboy) and Felix O’Hare (Drogheda)

• Average roof sizes these projects 6000m2.

• Undertaking all aspects of management including ordering all materials and flashings for each project, as well as ensuring all workers are completing works to the highest quality.

• Liaising with site managers as well as my own.

• Attending site meetings on a weekly basis.

• Ensuring all health and safety was being adhered to.

• Managing various teams on each site on a daily basis.

 

Key areas of works.

 

• Management of both tapered and flat roof insulation for both new and old builds. Measuring up all aspects, ordering materials and ensuring the quality of the finish is to a high standard.

• Single ply membranes – pvc and epdm membranes. Same as above.

• Built up metal standing seam roofs and insulated panel roofs -  insulated Kingspan panels for roofs and walls, standing seam composite panels.

• Liquid waterproofing - One part and two part liquid waterproofing systems (cold applied), - kemperol and enka were the products used.

• Rainwater goods - aluminium, pvc, zinc and cast iron rainwater goods, flat roof outlets, both refurbishment and new build.

• Rooflights - velux windows for pitched and flat roofs.

• Management of up to 5 teams on various sites across Ireland.

General Labourer in New York with Fine Finishes

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

● Attend to the carpenters as a general labourer assisting in all aspects of carpentry and building work.

● This role started as a two week trial and resulted in three months general labouring work.

● Duties included sheet rocking, tiling, kangoing, floor laying and polishing.

● Supervising demolition of a concrete floor to ensure the correct area was taken out and that the clean up was sufficient.

● During this time with Fine Finishes I was recommended by Manager Martin Moran to work with one of his sub-contractors as a painter.  I was subsequently employed by this painter for the remainder of the summer and worked with both himself and Fine Finishes in different stages of the project.

● Geographical regions covered Manhattan, Jersey and Queens.

Primary Responsibilities:

 

● Assisting in all types of plumbing work including installing stoves, fixing gas boilers, removing radiators, fixing showers.
