Profile
Reliable and conscientious history graduate with significant experience in a busy retail environment. This included leading a team, using computerised till and replenishment systems and interpreting sales reports and figures and required me to be adaptable and a fast learner. Customer service roles and volunteering in Israel for six months have shown that I am able to connect with a wide range of people and adapt well to new environments and roles. I now want to build on my existing skills and face new challenges.

This taught me to complete research effectively, assess evidence and form and present clear arguments in both written and oral form. The course was heavily based around independent work, which required good time management and self motivation.

Employment

Team Leader, Topshop, Southampton and Topman, York Sep 2009 – Present
Team leader position required me to manage teams of up to fifteen people in a busy retail environment and ensure great customer service was maintained at all times
Frequently led sale launches in Topman which required organisation and communication skills
Completed a wide variety of jobs both on the shop floor and in the stock room, as well as assisting in floor moves and re-merchandising departments. I am a fast learner and enjoy new challenges, which helped me to progress from sales assistant to team leader.
Regularly had to use initiative and solve problems quickly, for example helping newer members with complicated transactions on till and dealing with unhappy customers
Used and interpreted a variety of sales reports and ensured these were communicated to the whole team
Transferring between two different brands showed my ability to adapt to two very different sized stores with different customers and needs

Kibbutz Baram, Israel (Volunteer Work) June 2014 – October 2014
Worked in the orchards, kitchen, the dining hall and a variety of cleaning jobs
I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Israel as it enabled me to experience a compley different way of life. I lived with other volunteers from all over the world and worked alongside fellow volunteers and Israelis of all ages and backgrounds, which showed me I am able to connect with a wide variety of people.
I learnt a lot about myself whilst in Baram and gained confidence

I also have good computer skills as my time at Topshop and my music A Level have required me to quickly learn to use a variety of software, whilst my degree required me to be familiar with MS Office.

About Me

My time in Israel inspired me and I am desperate to see more of the world and meet new people! One of my main interests is travel and learning about different cultures. I would also love to improve my language skills as I currently know only the basics of a few languages. I also enjoy teaching, even if just informally. One of my favourite aspects of working at Topshop has always been helping newer members of staff and while I was in Israel I helped many of the other volunteers with their English.

I love all kinds of music, mostly listening, although I used to play the flute in an orchestra.

Volunteering on Kibbutz Baram is the best thing I have ever done, as it showed just how easily I can make friends with people from all over the world and gave me the confidence to be myself.
