WORK EXPERIENCE
-VOLUNTEER, CRAFTS COUNCIL May 2015
Throughout the duration of the Craft Council exhibition ‘COLLECT: The International Art Fair for Contemporary Objects’ at the Saatchi Gallery, I spent my time carrying out a range of duties alongside both the Craft Council and Saatchi teams. These duties included providing support to the artists involved in the event, delivering information and assistance to visitors, managing queues and ticketing, and aiding in the setting up and breaking down of the event spaces, alongside undertaking any odd jobs that needed to be completed.

-EXHIBITION CO-ORDINATOR January 2013-September 2014
During my first and second years of university, a fellow student and I organised an art exhibition to raise funds and encourage artists to donate art pieces to an empty art gallery in Djenne, Mali, in order to stimulate the local economy and increase local access to the arts. We chose to do this since we were informed that since civil war broke out, the tourism trade in Mali had been destroyed, with the galleries in the cities being left entirely empty, making it impossible for them to bring in visitors and custom. We raised over £1,500 for the gallery, and were given 9 pieces of art by various artists and photographers in London, to send over to help start a collection in the gallery.

-HEAD OF FEMINIST SOCIIETY, GOLDSMITHS’ UNIVERSITY August 2013-August 2014
In my second year of university I was chosen to become the new head of the university’s feminist society, during which I effectively organised weekly meetings for the members; often whilst working collaboratively with outside speakers. I was responsible for the management of the society's funds and membership, which led me to gain a solid understanding of the main Microsoft Office programmes. I created and regularly updated a page for the society as a platform for gaining support, spreading awareness and collectively organising get-togethers and trips. In my time as head of the society, some of my most prized achievements include my organisation of the first democratic elections for society positions, and my managing to single-handedly recruit over 300 new members in two days during the Freshers' Fair at my university, which alone brought in approximay £1200 in funds for the society.

-CHARITY EVENT CO-ORGANISER, WITHINGTON GIRLS’ SCHOOL September 2011-December 2011
Whilst in my final year of sixth form, a team of girls and I organised a charity fashion show for Barnardos and The Teenage Cancer Trust. My role in the team was to find sponsors for the show and oversee the design of the programme, tickets and posters, whilst organising the other volunteers and helping them to fulfil their various roles. The show raised over £5,000 through sponsorship, tickets and programme sales and was appreciated as a success by the charities involved, the school and the girls that worked on the event.

-VOLUNTEER, THE CHRISTIE CHARITY July 2009- July 2012
Whilst working as a volunteer at The Christie I assisted with the running of numerous fundraising events, including the Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride, as well as representing the charity on fundraising stalls at several sporting events.

About Me

Hi there!
My name is Lally, I'm a 21 year old woman, originally from Manchester but currently living in London. My life loves include reading, listening to music, hiking, swimming and sailing and, of course, TRAVELLING! I've been lucky enough to have been able to spend my free time trekking around the Sinai Desert in Egypt with Bedouin nomads, travelling around Eastern Europe with fellow hos-mates and even scuba-diving off the coast of Morocco. I'm hoping that my next adventure will involve buying and fixing up a camper van, and then driving around the Australian coast in the new year, visiting beaches, towns and hopefully amazing people along the way! I'm a hard worker, very focussed, but most of all I love turning chores into a fun time!
