Lucy (and Ed)

About Me

My husband Ed and I will be traveling for three to four months from June - September, hoping to explore China, Sri Lanka and The Americas.

I am a 30 year old midwife, who has been working in London for the last few years in a busy NHS hospital. My first degree was in graphic design, so I am also a designer, with a strong interest in the arts. I have always been a keen photographer. I also have a passion for nature, especially water (oceans, rivers, lakes, waterfalls) and I practice yoga and meditation daily. I have recently completed my 200hr yoga teacher training course which has helped me enhance my practice. Food, music and film are also important in my life. I love to try new foods, cook for lots of people and love an eclectic mix of music (from rock to folk to dance) and film. I also love beautifully designed and made books. I enjoy exploring new things and I am both creative and caring. Having grown up on building sites (my Dad develops houses), the idea of getting your hands dirty is very familiar and welcome to me. My general outlook on life is aiming to treat everyone equally and kindly, have lots of fun with a lot of laughing and live as balanced, joyous and peaceful life as possible.

Just a bit about my husband as we will be traveling together and come as a pair. Ed is 31 and works as a senior TV producer in London and Glasgow. He had also previously completed his law training which he spent time working in shipping law. Currently he largely works in comedy and is also a skilled writer, film maker and editor. Needless to say he has a passion for comedy and is also himself very good at making others laugh. He is extremely organised, competent and focused on getting things done. Also with a keen interest in photography, he is passionate and very knowledgable about music (also an eclectic mix) and film. His childhood dream was to be a film director. He loves cycling, is a mad tea fan and would love any opportunity to talk about, work with or drink tea. His general outlook on life is living with complete integrity, being determined and hard working whilst remaining positive, lighthearted and creating a lot of fun.
