My skills
I am a Speech-Language Pathologist. I obtained my Masters degree and have been working in a level-one trauma hospital in an acute care and inpatient rehab settings for a little over the past two years. I treat patients with speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders from a variety of different etiologies ( trauma, burns, strokes, cancer, etc). I am trained to complete modified barium swallow studies ( x-rays) and will soon be trained to complete fiberoptic endoscopic examination of swallow studies as well. I have experience working with trach patients who require the use of the speaking valve. Prior to this, I worked in a outpatient specialty clinic with individuals status post mild trauma brain injury primarily focusing on cognitive and language rehabilitation and carryover of those skills to functional daily tasks.
To make ends meet prior to beginning my career in Speech Therapy, I painted portraits for clients on a commission basis. I still occasionally do that on the side as well as assist with a friend in my business which makes decorations and backdrops of people's events ( weddings, birthdays, parties, etc).

About Me
I am a fun, easy-going and always up for adventure 27 year old. I enjoy reading, comedy tv shows, exercising, art and history. I also took piano lessons for 9 years and can still play (I could probably use some more practice though!). I am married and my husband and I are planning on some extended travel and if it is the right fit would like to do some work/help out in exchange in for a place to stay.
