About Me
Aloha,
My name is Desiree and I was born and raised in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii. My father is the second generation of Japanese immigrants brought to Hawaii to work on the pineapple fields. My mother is from California and has been in the Department of Education for over 35 years. I was raised in the countryside of Oahu near world famous beaches. My aunty was the renowned longboard champion and called the "Queen of Makaha." She taught me ocean and environmental values - so alot of passion is for environmental wellness and preservation. I enjoy any and all water sports, but primarily diving and surfing. I am also fond of hiking and have was an extreme hiker for 3 years. I've volunteered for Wilderness Volunteers to remove invasive species in Alaska and also serve on the board of E Ala Voyaging Academy - a floating vessel used to train young students to navigate the oceans and sail. My general outlook on life is to live as though you have just one shot in life - always pursuing your dreams and following your passion. My motto is - the ocean is my happy place, the world is my playground.
