Free Lance Translator, Cheswick, PA (September 2016 – March 2018), Major Client: Donnelley, Inc.

Translate, edit, and perform Quality Control, on AR-EN documents, specializing in financial and legal documentation.

MYP (Middle Years Program) and DP (Diploma Program) Coordinator

Served as the school’s MYP coordinator and DP coordinator for the schools application to become an IB school. Coordinated all aspects of the school’s application for authorization, which included writing of school policies (Admissions, Assessment, Academic Honesty, Technology), school philosophy, ethics codes, staff contracts, curriculum outlines, and other documents. Interacted directly with school board to ensure that documents met both school and IBO standards. Designed templates for numerous admin procedures, used MS Access VB to design teaching schedules, translated Arabic and English documentation. Trained teachers in writing and presenting lesson plans and curricula. Developed short- and long-term budgets for the school. Mar Qardakh was authorized for the Middle Years Program October 2014, and for the Diploma Program in February 2015.

Wrote fundraising proposals, identified project development opportunities for the diocese, developed and monitored budgets for various building and educational projects.

DP Coordinator for Bishop’s School IBDP authorization in April 2011. Wrote/edited policy documents, Authorization Application; coordinated the development of course outlines for subject groups.

As Department Head, transitioned the English Language Department from a traditional lecture-based methodology to a project-based methodology; worked to establish inquiry-based methodology in lower school.

Wrote fundraising proposals for media-based projects to raise awareness about the challenges and issues facing Middle East Christians.

Established and ran a non-profit organization to help struggling families. Activities included extensive fundraising, and the development of training programs to assist families

Principal Consultant for software development firm. Wrote numerous winning proposals, business analysis reports, and other documents. Developed data models for financial systems, served as assistant project manager and project manager for Y2K projects at Immigration and Naturalization Service and Department of Labor.

1993-1995 – Saudi Aramco, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

English Language/Computer Training Specialist. Trained students in business computing, designed programs to streamline administrative procedures within the training department. Designed CBT programs for Professional English Language Program students.

1988-1993 Keane Federal Systems, McClean, VA (AGS). Senior Consultant for software development firm. Worked on software projects as technical writer, software testing specialist, and business analyst. Wrote winning business proposals for numerous projects. Wrote manuals training guides for IBM programs, using XEDIT/Bookmaster (mainframe GML).

1983-1987 Technical Institute of Naval Studies, Royal Saudi Navy, Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Developed English language training curricula and English-Arabic Glossaries for Saudi Naval recruits.

1978-1980: SCS Business and Technical Institute, New York, New York: Taught various levels of ESL to Russian Immigrants.

1975-1978: US Peace Corps/Oman. English Teacher, Omani public school system. 1975-1977, Mutrah; 1977-1978 Hamra (Al-Ibriyeen).
