My skills
I am an ESL and Special Education teacher who will be traveling to Colombia from mid January until the beginning of March. I have been teaching for five years, with experience teaching ESL in Thailand, Mexico, and Spain. I currently teach Special Education in the local school district where I live in the northwest corner of the United States. In the evenings I teach an ESL class to adults at a local housing complex for low income farm workers. When I am not working, I love to mountain bike, cook meals with friends, or curl up with a good book and piping hot cup of coffee.

About Me
I am in a brief intermission between starting a new job this spring, and will be traveling through South America for part of this time. I am very interested in finding roots somewhere in Colombia- where I can get to know the people, learn some of the language, be of service in someway, and build a community. I will only be traveling for about two months, but am hoping to spend a full month volunteering somewhere that might be a good fit. I am a generally positive and go with the flow person. I love mountain biking, hiking, and being outside in any capacity! I also enjoy yoga, preparing and eating meals with friends, reading, and drinking delicious coffee. 🙂
