My skills

Since leaving University I have been involved with the hospitality industry and my skills are now at a first class level. Recently, I have been working at a 3 star ho in the well known ski resort in Switzerland, Verbier. This has been an incredible experience and has hugely developed my skills in customer service. I am now confident that I could work well in many hos or hoss around the globe. Before this I worked at a golfing ho in Birmingham, England, in which I worked at the famous sports bar. This increased my skills and also helped me progress in the ho industry.

As well as hospitality I have also worked in a business setting, in the Summer of 2015 and 2016 I worked for a recruitment firm in Birmingham, England. This job enabled me to engage with a variety of different clients and helped me see what it is like to work in an executive setting. My skills in administration are very useful and viable in most industries.

Work Experience

Ho Plan – December 2017 – Present

Currently I’m working for Ho Plan in Verbier, Switzerland, at a ho called Ho De Verbier.

My specific job role is front of house and hosting for the guests who stay at the ho. My main duties include waitressing during early breakfast shifts and dinner services, cleaning guest rooms and maintaining the general cleanliness of the ho, and ensuring first class customer service. This job has been a wonderful experience and as well as hugely developing my customer service skills it has also led me to pursue my passion of working and living abroad.

The Belfry Ho & Resort – October – December 2017

Throughout these months I worked at the famous sports bar, Sam’s Club House, in the most prestigious golfing ho in Birmingham. This job was important to me because it was the first time that I had worked in the ho industry and all my previous experience in customer service was tested. During my time working here I received barista training and health and safety training. Overall, this was a helpful experience and has helped me to progress in the ho industry.

The Ferry Boat Inn – Summer 2017

This summer I worked at the Ferry Boat Inn, during my time there I had a variety of duties such as bar work, waitressing, and cleaning. This role has enhanced my customer service skills and built on the skills that I have gained through previous work experience. This position was particularly enjoyable as meeting new people and ensuring customer satisfaction is something I find exciting in a job role.

Extra Personnel – Summer 2015 and 2016

During the summer of 2015 I worked at a recruitment company where I acted as a temporary receptionist. Due to the busy nature of a city centre branch, I engaged with a variety of people on the e and in person. My job was to identify the best talent for the roles we were recruiting for to satisfy the client needs.

Furthermore, in the the summer of 2016 I returned to the company and joined the EP professional team. Here I focused more on the executive side of recruitment and my role was to support the Consultants with administration and sourcing of candidates.

The Deli - November 2013 – March 2014

During my final year of A-Levels I had a waitressing job at a local café. This job required me to engage with customers and gave me a level of responsibility as I often worked alone in both the café and the kitchen. This job gave me the confidence to converse with customers, enhancing my customer service and leadership skills.

Armac Martin Manufacturing - July 2013

During this work experience I worked in a warehouse doing finishing jobs for a company who design, manufacture and sell brass products. I was mainly involved with checking the quality of the products and overseeing the packaging of them; before they were sent off to customers.

This work experience enabled me to communicate with different types of people, of different ages. The responsibility I was given has increased my confidence within a working environment.

New Oscott Primary School - June 2012

During this work experience I worked with Year 2 at a local primary school where I had a variety of jobs and tasks during my time there, including engaging with the children throughout their lessons and providing care for the children after school and during lunchtimes. This experience helped me to develop leadership skills which are useful for all working environments and also helped develop my time management.

Interests and Achievements

Running - From ages 9 to 18, I was a member of a local athletics and cross country club, Royal Sutton Coldfield Athletics Club. Throughout that time, I competed in a of competitions during both the winter and summer months and I won numerous awards and medals. This contributed to a general interest in sport as I became Sports Captain in my final two years of school. As Sports Captain I had certain leadership roles around school where I had to engage with students of all ages. Furthermore, I organised sporting events and activities which gave students the confidence to engage further with sport. Although my competition days are behind me, I was a member of my University’s gym and I often still volunteer to help out with my local athletics club in the holidays.

Skiing - I have been an enthusiastic skier since the age of 3 and since then I have developed a passion for the mountains. In addition to having lessons with ski school, I also took part in some ski competitions in Austria where I was awarded several medals. This passion continued into university when I became an active member of the Ski Society where I engaged with socials and ski events. In the future I hope I have the chance to build on my skiing abilities by working in the Alps.

Travelling – In the past few years I have enjoyed travelling to new and exotic places. This has been a rewarding break in between my education and has led me to become a more confident and independent person. I have experienced a variety of different cultures across the world and have met a wide range of people from many nationalities. Now that I have finished University I would like to work and live abroad and further explore what the world has to offer.

About Me

I have many interests but my main passion is travel. I love exploring different places, meeting new people and learning about other cultures and traditions. I love going to a music festival and during the Summer season I try to go to at least one each year! There is nothing quite like music to bring people together! When I went to University I studied History, so I love to learn about the history of the places I am in and get a feel for where I am. Reading plays a huge part in this but also I enjoy visiting local museums and galleries so I can get the full experience. In general I believe that the world has so much to offer and with such a small amount of time on this planet we have to seize all opportunities that arise and see as much of the world as we possibly can. Life is for living!
