EMPLOYMENT

2020-2021 Bike Club

Customer Service Executive

2016 – 2020 Together Limited

2016- 2017 Marketing Assistant – promoted to Marketing Manager.

Responible for four international customer s; organising and presenting the new seasons styles to clients, reviewing figures and sales performance in Excel. Working with the Graphics Department organising reshoots, samples and reprographics/colour correcting images.

2017 – 2020 Design Assistant

My desire was to become a Designer and I was given a three-month trial whilst concurrently having to oversee the majority of my original job as an s Manager. It was unusual to be allowed to move Departments as Fashion Design is a very competitive industry and the company’s preference was to hire externally. Following a successful trial, I became a permanent member of the Design Team.

During my time with Together, I developed many new skills including practical skills such as embroidery and beading artworks. As well as this, I became responsible for actioning prints with suppliers and recolours for the Department. This was important as deadlines were very tight and if missed this would have a serious knock on affect throughout all the Departments, it was a big responsibility.

I designed and actioned styles both with Together’s own sample room in Hong Kong, as well as with overseas suppliers. It was imperative that these instructions were clear and accurate, as we were primarily dealing with colleagues where English was a second language. If the information provided was inaccurate or unclear, it would again affect our timeframes and would be an extra cost to the business.

By having the responsibility of carrying out this task daily, I developed strong, effective communication and time management.

I accompanied Head of Design to both India and Hong Kong, to assist in sourcing prints, fabrics and trims in the local Markets, visit suppliers’ show rooms to view their samples and put sample developments into production for the new season. This was a fantastic opportunity to work under immense pressure, it was solely up to us to deliver a new season and meet the expectations of the Manging Director and execute her vision without her presence. This experience also fed my love of travel.

Additionally, I have worked with Photoshop, drawing CADs; been responsible for researching current trends ( prints/colours/shapes) and assisted the stylist on the shoots. I was also administrator of sample budgets.

OTHER EXPERIENCE

My School Work Experience assignment was in a Bridal Dress shop where I learnt basic skills; sewing, steaming the dresses, conversing with the customers and taking dress fitting bookings. I also observed the dress fitting meetings.

For my Sixth Form work experience I arranged a position in Germany working at a dairy products factory near Hamburg. This provided me with both the experience of working abroad, making new friends and improving my language skills. I was given several jobs, working in both the dairy Lab and the office. Though some tasks were simple, it also required overcoming the language barrier. I believe my communication skills and confidence have greatly improved as well as my German because of this.

About Me

I love Art! I am a very creative person and particularly have an interest in painting and sketching. I enjoy being in nature, hiking, camping etc. A recent new hobby I have picked up (being in Spain) is paddleboarding! I love being out in the water and would like to build myself up to learning how to surf, or windsurf! I have an interest in languages and that's part of the reason why I moved to Spain, to learn the language and their culture.
