2017 July-Back Up Trust - Snowdon Push
Central team member involved taking the first ever domestic electric wheelchair up Snowdon. Snowdon push is a charity event organised by the fantastic charity Back Up where each team carries/pushes a wheelchair user up and down Snowdon.
Key Transferrable Skills: Working well in a team, taking a leadership role when necessary and stepping back when necessary, working quickly and efficiently with people I had never met before.
2017 June-Back Up Trust - Kayak the Great Glen- (60 miles in 4 days)
Kayaked from Gairlochy to Dochgarroch Lochs in double kayaks with a spinal cord injury buddies. A tough 4 days kayaking through high winds and lots of rain as well as big waves on Loch Ness where we almost called off the journey. I was partnered with the least competent paddler as I was the most experienced paddler there. At no point did I personally feel I was out of my comfort zone with the weather or waves. Just a bit cold and wet.
Key Transferrable Skills: Working well in a team, spending long periods of time 1-1 with the buddie making convocation, taking a leadership role when necessary and stepping back when necessary, working quickly and efficiently with people I had known for a small amount of time.
2014 May- Lands End to John O’Groats cycle (930 miles in 9 ½ days)
Cycled form Lands End to John O’Groats with a friend. Raised money for the Kepplewray Centre, which is an outdoor adventure centre for disabled individuals
