About Me

I am Dave Calder, I am from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. At the end of September 2015 I will be embarking on a once and a lifetime experience as I travel through South America. I have always been fond of travelling and have done a small bit over the last few years. This trip will be very unlike the previous as I will be travelling alone and for over 70 days. After working all summer on a boat for Marine Atlantic I decided I would like to take a semester from school to get a real travel experience under my belt and planned out for months the ultimate itinerary for South America. I will begin my trip in Colombia and continue south along the west coast of the continent visiting Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Chile(maybe), Uruguay and Brazil. I hope to keep my friends and family posted on my adventures through social media and maybe even starting my own blog. In Cape Breton I am a member of one of the local Crossfit affiliates and would love to keep training at various gyms across South America, that would be amazing because I know the local Crossfit community is so awesome that it must be the same everywhere! I would love to work while I travel because I believe it is important to have perspective about how things are done in different parts of the world. I am always looking to learn new things because you never know when they might come in handy and they might show you an alternative to how things are done in Canada. If I could change one thing about my trip it would be that I would bring my dog, Dre!
