About Me
Hi, my name is Chris. After more than 25 years of working with university students I'm looking forward to finally having a working-learning-travelling gap year in 2019! I'm from the UK but I have worked in India, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and Croatia. I've been living overseas since 2010 and working with international, multi-cultural teams throughout that time.
I enjoy meeting people from around the world and learning about their way of life. I learned to love independent travel as a student in the 1980s and 90s, back-packing around most of Europe on an Interrail ticket every summer. In recent years I've travelled extensively in Asia and am fascinated by the wealth of languages and cultures.
I'm a committed life-long learner, especially regarding languages — Mandarin Chinese is my current obsession (I passed HSK 3 in July 2018; still a long way to ) but I'd like to improve my Japanese beyond a basic level as well.
