PERSONAL STATEMENT:
The research that has been done on criminogenic society throughout history has had a tremendous impact on how different nations, especially westernised culture, understand and deal with the incessant problem of crime. This correlates with how they conduct obligatory punishments and procedures to promote welfare. This is where my enthusiasm and motivation for Criminology comes from. This pushed me to undertake an undergraduate degree in Criminology at London South Bank University where I graduated with a degree. After I finished university I spent six months in South America. Half my time was spent in Peru where I worked for a short period of time carrying out manual labour while also visiting family. The other three months I was backpacking across the continent, an experience that let me observe how the criminal justice system operates in these third world countries. The time abroad aided in honing my Spanish while also improving my confidence and communication skills making me more independent. Since my return back to the UK, I found employment within the month and am still currently working at that company. This shows my determination and eagerness to work and contribute to society. I am eager to start a profession in Criminology and be a part of a philanthropic workforce. Studying Criminology accompanied by my work experience has helped me develop team work and leadership skills while keeping me motivated to achieve all my goals.
