My skills
I have fallen deeply in love with cold climes like Scandinavia, North America and Canada and would love to learn to look after sled dogs.
I am also a qualified tourist guide, and used to run a smallholding and B&B so am quite handy in the kitchen and house; I love cooking and am neat and tidy, so don't mind doing my share of cleaning! I'm fairly good at simple DIY and maintenance on the house and car and have looked after animals, including building houses, fencing etc.

I am a former police officer and prison governor, so I am used to dealing with emergency situations, don't panic and can be relied upon to work alone when
I now work as a freelance writer but this only takes 2-3 hours a day on an ad hoc basis, which leaves me plenty of time free to help out!
I am a certified advanced driver, used to driving in snow and ice and have done so in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Iceland and Canada.
I hold a child safeguarding certificate.
About Me
I enjoy the simple life in the wilderness, and am never happier than when I'm out in bad weather!
I love camping, hiking, and canoeing. I am currently learning to sail and have just come back from six weeks ambling around Canada in a pickup with a fair bit of cycling thrown in for good measure. This included wild camping - bears and all! - plus some hiking and running.
