Personal statement
I am a recent graduate from the Economics Department at University Carlos III of Madrid, where I gained an MSc in Economic Development and Growth. My research was mainly focused on the determinants of foreign direct investment and the behaviour of firms in the context of sustainability by using mathematical models and quantitative analysis. Besides my interests in academia, I enjoy learning new languages; the main reason behind this is so I can enhance my ability to communicate with a diverse range of individuals around the globe. Additionally, it is my endeavour to continuously challenge myself and heighten my personal and professional limits. This is depicted through my recent employment in Malaysia, where I currently live and work in a challenging rural environment located on a small island. In this environment I liaise with a range of individuals from various backgrounds who possess limited assortment of the English language. Through this challenge I have developed key competencies, such as; communication skills, teamwork and leadership skills. My personal interests include playing chess and playing different instruments, particularly acoustic guitar.
