About Me
Engineer by trade and formal education, explorer and lover by heart. I'm fond of slow mornings, complete with good coffee and meditation (though I could stand to be more consistent with the latter). I almost always have a book in my purse, usually nonfiction, and most recently of the neuroscience variety. I feel naked without my journal, you know, just in case of an especially noteworthy event or epiphany or something. I strive to be intentional in all things, love to laugh (and have been known to l embarrassing stories about myself so others can join in said laughing), probably a bit too introspective, but learned from an early age to quickly adapt and evolve. I'm very relationship driven at my core, so friends/family are very important to me, as are those random, seemingly serendipitous conversations with strangers.
I thrive outside my comfort zone and love to be challenged, be that with a complicated task, navigating a foreign location, or hearing different perspectives on my previously established views. My housemates and I are fairly active couchsurfing hosts in Austin, TX, and I try to travel in a similar fashion. I'm happiest when I am helping people feel welcome and included, so hospitality/service jobs are my jam. The other side of my brain is all about the maths. I've never met a logic problem or sudoku puzzle I didn't like. I also grew up playing outside, trying to keep up with my older brothers, so I'm always up for an adventure or anything that allows me to get my hands dirty.
My ideal job is one that allows me to wear a lot of different hats in one day (metaphorically, of course, though literally might be fun, too). I've been called a Renaissance woman, though I think that's giving me a bit too much credit, as I'm mostly figuring it out as I go. I think "jack of all trades, master of some" is a bit more fitting.
I'm an open book, so ask away! Happy to set up a videocall, share any socials or references, you name it. Sorry in advance that I don't have the southern drawl Hollywood has taught you to expect from Texans, but I do say "yall" without shame, so I hope you can cut me some slack. Looking forward to the chance to work with you!
