EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
2008 - current; Chief Executive Officer / RaStenia ()
RaStenia is a small 100% domestic interior landscaping company dealing with vertical gardening and green walls for all sorts of customers. We started in 2008 and have been the true pioneers of vertical gardening in Russia, developing and testing our own technology of designing, growing and maintaining vertical gardens (also known in the world as living walls, plantwalls, etc.). I was in charge of creating the company in St. Petersburg virtually from scratch. I report to the Business Development Manager who is also the only owner and investor, and all strategic answers and solutions came to me downwards. So my role has been more or less purely administrative, or a CRM position, but with full responsibility for administrative functioning of the business. That means I organized the company, was responsible for numerous restructuring, delegated responsibility and duties, shared the functions between people, steered their creative processes when needed and supported their achievements. We actually served as an R&D department for the whole brand. Later in 2009 Moscow branch has started after we shared our technological guidelines.
There were usually 7-10 people in my team, normally only creative staff (engineers, biologists, later - designers), and I was the only manager to serve, manage and cover them all. Sometimes a girl or two would appear and try to be a manager, but they soon left (either pregnant or disappointed by the salary level).
I was in charge of supplies and purchases, of sales and promotion, local marketing and PR; I formed commercial offers and negotiated with customers, received all calls and started projects visiting customers, making simple sketches on the spot, controlling and delegating the process further, writing and calling to the clients with various things to discuss, etc.
I hired people and paid them (but the С&B policy came from our BDM/business owner), searched for people and taught them, supervised production and installations episodes, provided all legal documentation and kept it in order for an outsourced chief ant, did the primary ing and financial reports being responsible for all expences. Conducted workshops and lectures for designers, customers and trainees, was in charge of exhibitions, -content, media s, etc. etc.
Unfortunay, this business is rather a failure in the commercial sense due to many reasons. Currently we sell educational services (distance learning programs) based upon our own technology, the texts being written and compiled also by myself. Together with my partner we have designed a copy-protected -publication and support this service.

About Me

I have two kids, a girl and a boy born in 2005 and 2011 respectively. My partner works in IT. We're always looking for new impressions, adventures and cultural enrichment. On weekends we travel around, go to museums, take long walks. We are fond of architecture and photography, books and music, arts and new ideas.
I play guitar, my partner plays jaw harp.
I read lots of modern poetry and fiction, with a special taste for classical detective stories. I am a true fan of British English 🙂
Kids are noisy, but we are polite and respectful to privacy.
