Interests and Hobbies
Learning new languages, teaching English as a volunteer, reading, cinema, walking, genealogy, sailing, cooking, spinning, weaving, knitting, drawing, traveling, IT, graphic design, photography, astrology, astronomy, gardening, art history, music – (I play piano, flute, recorder and Javanese gamelan). I have travelled to various places (mostly India) to investigate various “spiritual” paths.
I have two grown sons of my own, one in Australia and one in London, and three grandchildren, of eight, five and one year old. I speak Italian and French and some rusty Spanish as well as a little Indonesian and Greek. I am learning Portuguese on line. I like to travel and meet new people and experience new cultures and am especially interested in a sustainable lifestyle, ecologically sound with minimal energy use. I am a biodynamic and permaculture farmer of many years’ standing and supervise (by and Skype these days) a small organic/permaculture farm in Holland which supplies a community with vegetables and fruit. I am usually vegetarian or vegan in my eating habits, but do not have any issues with eating or cooking animal products. I am a good cook and love to make new recipes from various countries. I do not as a rule drink alcohol, except occasionally in social situations and then only a minimal amount.
Whilst in Bali for some months each year over the past four years I have been teaching English to Balinese children in the Bali Hati school in Mas and also to teenagers and young adults in the evenings at Bali Hati Spa in Jalan Raya Andong, Ubud.
I have two passports, Australian and UK. I have one son in London and another in Sydney – with two grandchildren in London and a recent arrival (now one year old) in Sydney.
About Me
I am a retired teacher, gardener, cook. Happy disposition with good SOH and like a quiet life. Do not drink or smoke. And like to read or watch decent films. I prefer to live in the countryside and preferably by the sea. I do not much like city life and prefer to be outdoors in my free time. I am mainly vegetarian but am not fussy in my eating or when I cook for others. Like fresh organic food if possible and no fast food. I have two grown children and have grandchildren in London and Sydney. I am fond of music and dancing - eclectic music from early music to rock as long as it's good. Love opera and classical music but also 60's to 80's rock etc. I have travelled all over the world and have many stories to l!!
